TIPS AND ACTIVITIES FOR OVER THE SUMMER

We know that you are very excited about your upcoming summer break! Here are a few suggestions to help you and your family have a FUN and SAFE summer:

Career Shadowing

The best way to learn about careers/jobs, and whether or not one would be a good fit for you, is to actually experience what it would be like. Think about some of the adults you know. Are there any that have interesting jobs that you would like to learn more about? Ask your parents to help you line up a day to spend "shadowing" that person at his/her job. You will be surprised at what you will learn!

Coping Skills Practice

Remember, it is always important to take care of yourself, mind and body. Keep practicing your coping skills over the summer. Some ideas include: write in a journal, play your favorite sport or game, draw a picture, listen to music, organize your room, play with your pet, go for a walk or run, and talk with the grown-ups that you trust. You probably have some of your own ideas too!
