Gravely School Counseling Program

The Gravely Elementary School Counseling Program is designed to meet the needs of all students and to be inclusive, preventive, and developmental in nature. Gravely’s school counseling department designs and implements a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the needs of the students and the school community that we serve. Gravely school counselors work with all educational partners (students, parents, teachers, and staff) to collaboratively partner in the educational process. The school counselors at Gravely ensure equitable academic, career, and social/emotional development opportunities for all students through classroom counseling instruction, individual and small group counseling, and appraisal and advisement activities.

The Gravely Elementary School Counseling Program is currently a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP). The RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model framework.

Ms. Megan Evers ([email protected]) - Grades K, 2, 4

My name is Megan Evers! I have had the pleasure of being at Gravely as a part time counselor, and I am excited to join the Gravely community full-time this school year! I graduated from Buffalo State with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and graduated from Canisius with my master’s degree in school counseling. I believe everyone deserves a fresh start each school year and should be allowed the opportunity to grow and thrive in a way that best suits their needs.

In my free time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, cooking, baking, and rooting for the Buffalo Bills! I am looking forward to continuing my time at Gravely and building strong relationships with staff, students, and families!

Ms. Sarah Vinter ([email protected]) - Grades 1, 3, 5

Hello Gravely community, my name is Sarah Vinter, and I am beyond excited to join the mental health team as a School Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. I am a proud graduate of Radford University (Go Highlanders) and have recently graduated from George Mason University where I obtained my master’s in counseling. I believe strongly in the power of education as well as fostering resilience in our students. I value integrity, community, and empathy, and believe in leading by example. In my free time I enjoy exercising, reading, spending time with my friends, and anything outside. I look forward to this school year and continuing to build relationships within this community.

Ms. Melanie Riley ([email protected]) - Supporting all grade levels on Mon/Tues/Thurs

My name is Melanie Riley, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Gravely Elementary community as a part-time school counselor this year! I’ll be working with students on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and spending the rest of my week at Alvey Elementary.

I’m a proud graduate of Marywood University in Pennsylvania, where I earned both my Master’s degree in School Counseling and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I deeply believe in the power of relationships and am excited to begin building meaningful connections with students and their families.

Outside of school, I’m a mom to two amazing children who are growing up in Prince William County Public Schools. My daughter is starting high school at Gainesville, and my son is entering 7th grade at Reagan Middle. When I find free time, I love cheering them on at their sporting events, spending quality time with family and friends, shopping, and relaxing with our dog.

I look forward to a wonderful year filled with growth, connection, and support.
