Dear Gravely Family,

I am thrilled to write this letter to you as your newly appointed principal. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead alongside a dedicated staff in a school with rich traditions and a strong commitment to educational excellence.

My education includes a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on technology and a doctoral degree in professional studies in education. I am certified in teaching grades K-3 and in educational leadership and administration.

As a family, my husband (Marcus) and I enjoy attending various sporting events with our son Myles. Myles, a former Gravely Seadog, will be attending Gainesville High School in the fall.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 20 years to include teaching abroad in Tirana, Albania and in Athens, Greece. I had the pleasure of teaching kindergarten at Gravely for five years and served as the assistant principal at Gravely for the past six years.

My vision is that all students will excel academically and have equal opportunities to learn. My goal is to build upon and continue the existing culture of excellence and achievement. I am committed to ensuring that we work together to address the academic needs of all students. I will build a positive culture and climate within the school where students feel safe and enjoy coming to school. I aim to create a community that exudes positivity and inclusivity. Finally, I will be the dedicated leader you all have become accustomed to, always keeping our students’ interests at the forefront.

I am enthusiastic about working with this wonderful community, and together, we can empower our students to seek and achieve their full potential. Soon, I will share information on a Meet-the-Principal event planned for the future.
