Week of April 24th:
Special Weekly News:
April 24, 2017
Thank you to all parents that either chaperoned or met us at Sully Plantation. The children really seemed to enjoy this field trip.
Report cards will go home April 25, 2017 for the 3rd quarter. Please make sure to sign the bright green cover and send it back to school. You may keep the report card for your records.
The book fair will run this week. We will go Monday to preview the books. If you want your child to purchase books during school hours you can send in the money for the books and I will make sure they get down to the book fair. Book fair hours of operation are on the Gravely webpage.
Starting in the month of May, first grade gives many different end of the year assessments. The PALS test (Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening) will start mid-May for our first graders. I also assess the students in the following areas throughout May: reading levels (DRA), Reading Comprehension (CSA), end of the year writing narrative, and end of the year math test. It would be very helpful if you could make sure your child is at school on time and schedule any appointments later in the day rather than in the mornings. Please know that I understand that things come up and that it is hard to change specialists appointments that you may already have scheduled. Thanks in advance with your help in this area!
FYI: Our class picnic will be on June 2nd from 12:00-1:30. All family members are welcome to attend. More details will follow as the date gets closer.
